ABOUT

Colin Sipos is a client-centered music producer, mixer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Nashville, TN. A lifelong musician and trained designer (Kent State University), he approaches every artist as a unique creative force. He makes big, complex musical projects feel possible, anxious artists feel seen, and helps bands capture the magic they found on stage in the studio.

Colin values building strong relationships with artists, providing them with the comfort they need to create their best work. So, he’s not just an engineer, he’s the guy that helps you lower your blood pressure, have fun, and think big. Colin approaches every project with an exceptional level of passion, mindfulness, and attention to detail. While others may settle for "good enough," Colin strives for excellence while also staying in tune with his collaborators.

Colin studied audio engineering at ARTI in Orlando, Engine Studios in Chicago with producer Brian Deck (Iron & Wine, Modest Mouse,) and Gravity Studios in Chicago with producer Doug McBride (Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt.)

Before moving to Nashville, Colin immersed himself for 16 years in Chicago's vibrant music scene, collaborating with songwriters, bands, composers, film directors, and ad agencies. His impressive portfolio includes renowned artists such as Iron & Wine, Califone, and The Steepwater Band, as well as Grammy-winning producer Steve Berlin (Los Lobos.) In addition, Colin explored his passion for composing by working with esteemed film and commercial composers like Tim Rutili, Steve Ford, and Eric Lambert. This led him to create custom-scored music for award-winning short films and prominent brands such as Jeep and P.F. Chang’s.

Colin's versatility shines through his ability to engineer live string sessions, program old-school MPC beats, and seamlessly incorporate found sounds into a song's composition. His extensive experience in creating music for various mediums gives him a deep understanding and skill in translating ideas across different genres and artistic styles. The process of scoring music for film scenes enhances his connection to a song's lyrics, while his work in fast-paced voiceover sessions improves his ability to conduct effortless and productive vocal tracking sessions—a huge relief to vocalists with anxiety.

He thrives on the excitement of collaboration and embraces the unexpected surprises that arise throughout the creative process. If you're interested in bringing your vision to life, reach out to him through the contact page.
